Particularly appealing is the vibrantly speckled glaze, whose nuanced surface gives the vessel remarkable depth and an individual, almost painterly character. The balanced design and subtle variation in the glaze reflect the high-quality craftsmanship of Danish ceramic art of the period. The vase is in excellent condition and is signed with the monogram \"GB\" as well as the characteristic three wavy lines of Royal Copenhagen. \u003cspan class=\"PDq2pG_selectionAnchor\"\u003e\u003c\/span\u003eGerd Bøgelund (1923–1987) was a Danish ceramicist whose work is characterized by organic forms and a special sensitivity for material, glaze, and surface effect. She worked for Saxbo, Søholm, and Royal Copenhagen, among others.
