Exceptional and highly elegant lounge chair by Aldo Morbelli, produced in the 1950s by I.S.A. Bergamo in Italy.
I.S.A. Bergamo was among the most important Italian manufacturers of high-quality seating furniture during the post-war period, collaborating with some of the leading designers of the era. The company became renowned for its exceptional craftsmanship, elegant proportions, and its ability to combine traditional upholstery techniques with the refined modernism of Italian design. Today, furniture produced by ISA is highly sought after internationally and considered an important part of Italian Mid-Century design history.
Aldo Morbelli was also one of the notable designers of this period. His work is characterized by refined lines, comfort, and a subtle sense of luxury. Particularly distinctive is the harmonious balance between sculptural form and sophisticated materiality.
This chair has been completely reupholstered and fitted with new foam padding. The upholstery features a soft cotton terry fabric originating from a villa in Milan, giving the piece a unique textile history and an additional sense of depth and character.
The refined brass feet and the high-quality craftsmanship further enhance the elegant appearance of this exceptional lounge chair. A distinctive Italian vintage piece in outstanding condition.
