Antique Kayseri cotton carpet from Turkey, made in the 1940s. Classic motifs, very beautiful colours. The carpet is knotted with mercerized cotton, a technique that gives the cotton more shine and makes the carpet look more noble. Rather small for a Kayseri rug. The edges have been newly knotted and the carpet has been freshly cleaned. Top condition.
