The chairs originate from the home of Giovanni Panozzo, a member of the Group 33. This set of six Swiss cantilever chairs from the 30s is a quintessential example of early modern design and the clear, functional formal language of this era. The chairs combine architectural rigor with an elegant lightness created by their distinctive cantilevered frames. Typical of design from this period is a consistent reduction to the essentials: clean lines, well-considered construction, and an honest use of materials. The result is an ensemble that is both visually and functionally compelling, while also reflecting the design ideals of the interwar modern movement. The subtle balance between stability and flexibility gives the chairs a quiet dynamism, allowing them to feel alive despite their strict and minimal form. When viewed as a set, they develop a strong spatial presence without ever appearing intrusive. Whether placed in an elegant dining area, an architecturally driven interior, or used as a refined contrast in a contemporary space, these cantilever chairs integrate effortlessly into a wide range of environments while making a discreet yet distinctive design statement. In good vintage condition.
