Four Model 45 armchairs, designed by Alvar Aalto in the 30s and manufactured by Artek in the 70s. The armchairs are made of characteristically curved birch wood and feature high-quality rattan upholstery. As striking examples of early modern Scandinavian design, they impressively illustrate Aalto’s pioneering use of molded wood and his combination of functional clarity, high-quality craftsmanship, and organic form. The wickerwork has been professionally restored. The armchairs are in excellent, restored condition.
