This original Alfred Alten Junior floor lamp from 1953 with the original paint is an absolute collector's item.
Alfred Altherr Junior was a designer, architect, museum director, lecturer, exhibition designer, co -initiator of the award ‹The good form› and managing director of the Swiss Werkbund (SWB). His design, pedagogical and journalistic work can still be felt in architecture and design history.
Characterized by the father and his numerous contacts, Altherr Junior had the opportunity to learn in Paris at Le Corbusier after his apprenticeship as a draftsman at the Pfister brothers and his working time with Karl Moser.
The draft for the floor lamp was conceived in Zurich, Switzerland in 1953.
The company Kihm Heinrich produced it at Predigerplatz in Zurich in a small series of 30.
