Bidjar Kilim, Perisia, 1880

Rare Iranian Kilim from the Bidjar region, dated around 1880. The provenance from Bidjar is one of the most renowned areas of origin in Iran and is known for textiles of exceptional robustness and longevity, which are considered almost indestructible.

The kilim can be used on both sides, which is typical for this weaving technique and at the same time underlines the high quality of craftsmanship. The wool used is of excellent quality and is dense, resistant and at the same time pleasant to the touch. The lively, harmoniously coordinated colors have a remarkable freshness and depth despite their age.

The piece has been professionally lightly restored and cleaned, carefully preserving the original fabric and historical character. Due to its early dating to around 1880, the high-quality workmanship and the good condition, this Kilim can be classified as a rare collector's item.
