A rare and outstanding example of Swiss craftsmanship: the DS-15 modular sofa from renowned manufacturer De Sede, made in the 1980s. This elegant ensemble consists of three corner elements that can be flexibly combined and individually arranged – ideal for architecturally clear rooms, lounge areas or prestigious living environments.
Made from strong, natural cognac buffalo leather, the sofa impresses with its exceptional material quality. The leather is characterised by its high durability and soft, non-slip feel. The surface has a uniform, fine-pored structure and a subtle patina, which gives the piece a warm, authentic look. The leather is virtually unused, which means that the original colour brilliance and elegant texture have been completely preserved.
Each element was handmade in the De Sede workshops in Klingnau (Switzerland) – where the same traditional methods that have made De Sede one of the leading brands for exclusive leather furniture are still used today. This uncompromising manufacturing quality is evident in the precise stitching, the immaculate upholstery and the clear design language.
The DS-15 model exemplifies the confident, sculptural design of the 1980s: generous volumes, harmoniously rounded shapes and powerful materiality. Thanks to its modular construction, the ensemble can be easily adapted to different room concepts – from compact living situations to spacious lounges.
The original invoice has also been preserved, further underlining the authenticity and collectability of the piece. The overall condition is excellent – technically and visually almost flawless.
