Lucerne Ceramics, founded by Emil Loder in the mid-1920s in Ebikon near Lucerne, developed its own style from 1950 onwards. With the collaboration of his son Franz Loder and his wife Margreth, vases and bowls with highly stylized natural shapes and simple graphic patterns were created. Glazes with a great depth effect are characteristic, achieved through relief-like clay structures and the alternation between shiny and matt surfaces.
The bowl offered here impresses with the interplay of slightly darker, deeper lines with light gray surfaces and hard transitions. This creates an elusive surface reminiscent of colored glass.
