Fertility figure in the Kaya style, from the Mossi people in Burkina Faso. Completely hand carved out of wood, with a beautiful, smooth, dark patina. The lines cut into the figure represent braids, characteristic facial scars, as well as breast and belly scars, which are only worn by women. Very nice original condition.
