Large Hans Huber clay vase, Augst, 70s

Impressive large-scale ceramic vase by the Swiss ceramic artist Hans Huber of Augst, created in the 70s. The work is distinguished by its strong sculptural presence, balanced proportions, and expressive surface treatment. It is a representative example of the material-driven aesthetic and exceptional craftsmanship that characterize Swiss studio ceramics of the period. The clear, almost archaic form is complemented by the vibrant texture of the clay and the subtle nuances of the glaze. The surface lends the piece depth and character, emphasizing the individuality inherent in handcrafted production. Owing to its impressive scale, the vase commands a strong spatial presence and functions equally well as a practical vessel and as an autonomous sculptural object. Hans Huber is regarded as one of the notable figures of the 20th-century Swiss ceramics scene. His works are appreciated for their authenticity, technical precision, and timeless design. This vase is a characteristic example of his oeuvre, combining artistic expression with outstanding material quality. In good vintage condition.
