Original exhibition poster for the 1984 exhibition “Hans Gugelot – System Design” at the Neue Sammlung in Munich, designed by Mendell & Oberer. The exhibition was dedicated to the work of the renowned designer Hans Gugelot, who is considered one of the most important figures in postwar German design. As a leading figure in the circle of the Ulm School of Design, Gugelot developed a consistently functional and systematic approach to design. His designs, particularly those for Braun, exemplify a new, functionalist design philosophy that combined function, construction, and industrial mass production. The poster, designed by Mendell & Oberer, translates this concept of system design into a striking graphic form and is also an interesting document of German graphic and design history from the 1980s.

The copy offered here is an original print from 1984 and is explicitly not a later reprint. The poster is in good to very good vintage condition with minor age-related signs of wear and slight creases. There are no holes or adhesive residue. The poster is mounted in a simple glass frame and is therefore ready for display.
