This elegant table lamp by Johannes Andersen embodies the quintessence of Danish mid-century design: quality craftsmanship, clear design language and a subtle balance of contrasting materials and harmonious colours.

The ceramic base is handmade and features a striking, all-round glaze in warm turquoise, which appears vibrant thanks to subtle nuances in the surface. In the upper section, the glaze transitions into a matt, grey-toned body – a deliberate contrast that lends the lamp depth and character. This interplay of gloss and matt, colour and calm is typical of Andersen's designs and gives the form a natural, almost sculptural lightness.

The cable emerges discreetly through an opening at the back, ensuring that the lamp's clear silhouette remains undisturbed – another example of Andersen's precise sense of proportion and functionality.

The ceramic body is crowned by an authentic, hand-woven jute shade, whose warm, textured surface corresponds perfectly with the ceramic. The carefully crafted shade edges are particularly beautiful, emphasising the quality of the craftsmanship. The shade provides a soft, natural light that gives the room a calm, organic atmosphere.

The lamp has been professionally rewired and fitted with a high-quality textile cable. It is in very good, original vintage condition.
