Historical exhibition poster for the Le Corbusier exhibition “Architecture, Painting, Sculpture” at the Kaiser Wilhelm Museum in Krefeld from 1958. The exhibition showcased Le Corbusier’s multifaceted body of work beyond the boundaries of architecture and highlighted the close connection between architecture, painting, and sculpture within his overall oeuvre. Le Corbusier did not view these fields as separate disciplines, but rather as components of an overarching creative approach that shaped his artistic and architectural work. The accompanying exhibition catalog was printed in 1958 by Franzis-Druck in Munich. Since the printing company responsible for this particular poster cannot yet be definitively identified, it is likely that it was produced by Franzis-Druck, though this has not been conclusively proven.

As an original exhibition poster from the late 1950s, this piece is today not only an interesting document on Le Corbusier’s work but also an authentic testament to postwar German exhibition and design history. The clean graphic design and minimalist typography reflect the modern visual language of that era and give the poster a strong presence that remains contemporary to this day. This copy is in clearly used vintage condition and shows signs of age and wear. There is a stamp and a handwritten signature on the back. These marks have been intentionally left in place and underscore the poster’s authentic historical character.
