The legendary ‘Bachelor Chair’ was designed in the 1950s by Verner Panton for Fritz Hansen and is an outstanding example of innovative Danish furniture design in the post-war period. The collapsible armchair consists of an ottoman connected to the seat by curved N-shaped tubular steel, stabilised by two crossbars. The construction allows for both elegant lightness and high seating comfort. This ensemble is finished in bold red and features a matching cushion cover that further enhances comfort. All components, except for the fabric, are original and in very good condition, including the original sticker on the underside, which confirms authenticity and manufacturer affiliation. An exceptional example of functional, form-conscious design that demonstrates the combination of aesthetic sophistication, precision craftsmanship and playful elegance.
