A very nicely preserved wooden mask of the Lwalwa tribe from the Congo. The masks were mainly used in ritual dances before and after hunting. This model has a long nose and an almond shaped face, which indicates that she represents a woman. The geometric features of the mask are very typical of the works of the Lwalwa. In very nice vintage condition.
