Carved Kulango spoon with pestel on the handle. This ceremonial artefact comes from the Ivory Coast. Although it is a utilitarian object, it almost resembles a sculpture. The pronounced signs of wear bear witness to decades of use before the object found its way to Europe. A piece steeped in history.
